"Ramblin' Waltz" is the song Lena asked me to sing for Dave Van Ronk that fateful night in Saratoga Springs in February 1976 when he was just passing through. Halfway through the song Dave closed his eyes and I thought, "Oh no! . . . I've put him to sleep!" but he was joshin' with me. He opened his eyes and said, "You should come to New York." And I said, "Oh I will when I learn how to play guitar better!" He said, "I'm a teacher. I'll teach you."
