Gordon Nash celebrated his 50th birthday at my concert at the beautiful Steppingstone Park in Great Neck, New York. Gordon snapped this photo of me onstage with legendary songwriter Ervin Drake (author of "Good Morning Heartache," "I Believe," "It Was A Very Good Year" and many other wonderful songs). Little did we know -- 'til we saw this photograph -- how we were being upstaged by the setting sun. We were singing Ervin's song "I'm A Card-Carrying Bleeding Heart Liberal" when this picture was taken, and we couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for this powerful song.
